Location: Greenville, NC (27834) – North Carolina healthcare jobs Unit: Neurosciences IU Gen – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Registered Nurse Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/3/2026) Shift: 12-hour night shifts Weekly Hours: 36 Open Positions: 3 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1910 - $1960 RN Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Compact nursing license accepted BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or neuroscience nursing experience Must pass EKG exam during orientation and compliance process Proficient in reading and interpreting cardiac strips Must reside outside an 80-mile radius from the facility All requested time off must be submitted prior to assignment confirmation Registered Nurse Responsibilities Manage a patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 based on acuity in the PCU Deliver specialized care for patients with acute stroke (ischemic, hemorrhagic, SAH), post neuro-surgical management (craniotomy, ventriculostomy, complex neuro-spine), seizure management, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barre, and other neurological conditions Utilize advanced clinical skills: NIHSS assessments, lumbar puncture assistance, arterial and central line management, tracheotomy care, lumbar drains, IV starts, peripheral and arterial blood draws, and administration of intravenous drips (cardiac, insulin, heparin) Participate in cardiac monitoring and interpretation Work 3 out of 4 holidays and 6 weekend shifts within each 6-week schedule Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care Apply now
