Location: Asheville, NC (28801) – North Carolina nursing jobs Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU), 44 beds Employment Type: Travel RN contract Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45PM - 7:15AM) Hours per Week: 36 Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025, End: 1/5/2026) Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Scrub Color: Navy blue Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800 - $1840 Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or stepdown nursing experience Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Preferred: Experience in neuro nursing and trauma care Strong clinical skills and patient-focused attitude Proficiency with Cerner EMR Responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care in a busy 44-bed Progressive Care Unit Perform neuro and spinal assessments, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace management Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, and lumbar drains Assist with feeding tube placement and blood transfusions Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including RNs, CNAs, and HUCs Float to stepdown and medical-surgical units as needed Maintain accurate nursing documentation and comply with hospital policies How to apply
