Job Summary
Operarting Room Liasion for main OR at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. Full‑time days Monday through Friday 6:30am–3:00pm. Preference for experience as Surgical Technologist and Sterile Processing Technician.
Responsibilities
Coordinates and oversees daily activities between the OR and Central Sterile Services Department to facilitate efficient case flow.
Assists in projects and process improvement initiatives in compliance with policies and procedures, goals, objectives and initiatives.
Promotes customer service and satisfaction through training, education, and resolution of staff and physician issues and concerns.
Maintains knowledge of cleaning, assembling, packaging, & sterilization of instruments and equipment according to the IFUs, A.A.M.I, and IACHSMM current standards.
Demonstrates awareness of personal and work area safety at all times; using evidence based practices and complying with facility safety policies and procedures in carrying out duties including those for blood borne pathogens and communicable diseases.
Must keep knowledge current on aseptic techniques and basic microbiology sufficient to understand the ways diseases and infections are transmitted and the importance of clean and sterile supplies in patient care;
Attend training in new and improved sterilization practices and developments in the microbiology, bacteriology, and therapeutic practices as they affect the sterile supply operation.
Sterilizes OR instrumentation in the OR area.
CRCST required within one year.
Education High School Diploma/GED. Associate’s Degree preferred.
Experience
1‑2 years Surgical Technologist experience.
Licenses & Certifications
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Required.
Certification Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Required Or
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). Preferred.
