Lead the next generation of psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners at USC Nursing.

The University of South Carolina College of Nursing (CON) seeks an experienced clinician and educator to lead our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program. This on-site, full-time role includes teaching responsibilities, oversight of daily program operations, and guiding students from admission through program completion. Position Highlights Leadership & Collaboration: Work closely with senior leaders and faculty to enhance program quality and outcomes. Clinical Practice: Opportunities to maintain clinical practice to enrich your own and students’ experiences. Research & Scholarship: Engage in impactful scholarship to advance psychiatric mental health care. Ideal candidates will bring a passion for PMHNP education, modern teaching experience, including simulation, and a commitment to student growth and professional development. Required Education And Experience Holds an earned doctorate in nursing. National Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (preferred) or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (across the lifespan). Clinical Experience: Minimum of two years practicing as a PMHNP or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. Teaching & Mentorship: Minimum of two years of experience mentoring and teaching NP students. Licensure & Prescriptive Authority: Eligible for active unencumbered nursing licensure with prescriptive authority in South Carolina. BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) documentation is required Communication & Innovation: Exceptional skills in communication, program development, and team leadership are expected.
