Assistant/Associate Professor of Math Education Location: Summerville Campus • Full Time Position status: Non-tenure track; start expected August 2026. Responsibilities

Teaching - 80%: Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses primarily focused on teaching mathematics to PK-12 students. Teach a 4-4 load, online and on-campus. Research - 10%: Establish or continue a robust research agenda; seek to develop a national or international presence; familiarity with quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches and rigorous scholarship in education. Service - 10%: Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession as appropriate. Required Qualifications

Candidates should have earned their terminal degree from an accredited university in Mathematics Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Teaching and Learning, or a related educational field and have developed or have the potential to develop a rigorous line of research. ABD applicants who are expected to graduate in summer 2026 are encouraged to apply. Assistant Professor: Early career faculty member. Associate Professor: Mid-level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or equivalent training and experience. All USG institutions and academic ranks requirements include: Consistent with SACSCOC accreditation requirements; Evidence of ability as a teacher; Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned; Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); Desirable personal qualities assessed via interview, biographical data, and recommendations. Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is academic year based (August–May, dates per offer letter and contract). FTE is 1.0. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to funds availability. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more. Full-time employees may be eligible for Tuition Assistance Program after 6 months of employment. Rank and salary are set at hire, considering experience, education, credentials, training, internal equity, and market data.
