Role description Arcadis is looking for a Water/Wastewater Engineer with treatment plant experience to join our growing team in Mobile, Alabama or Pensacola, Florida. You will collaborate with experienced water professionals to support development of water and wastewater projects, interact with clients, and grow technical capabilities.
Role accountabilities
Evaluate, plan, design, permit, and support management of projects for water/wastewater plants and conveyance (pipelines, treatment, and pumping facilities).
Support professional engineering services during construction: construction observation, review of shop drawings, responses to RFIs, and permit closeouts.
Support water and wastewater projects through the planning, design, and construction phases.
Oversee the development of design calculations, technical report sections, technical design drawings, and specifications.
Prepare reports, presentations, and other audio‑visual materials, and participate in client meetings.
Ensure project compliance with Arcadis practices, quality, health, and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission on time and within budget.
Work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to collaborate across the country via MS Teams.
Learn and use digital tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery including configuration and deployment of SharePoint, BIM, Power BI, and Augmented Reality.
Travel will be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight as needed.
Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications
3 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or a related field of study.
Preferred Qualifications
Master of Science/Engineering in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study.
PE License or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
Experience in design or consulting engineering or in a municipal work environment.
Project leadership experience including managing overall project delivery expectations, prioritizing tasks, and developing schedules and budgets.
Prior construction observation experience, punchlists, as‑builts, record drawings, etc.
Experience with stormwater design, permitting, and master planning.
Experience with developing plant hydraulic grade lines, hydraulic design of pumps and pumping stations, sand filters, GAC, wells, clarifiers, UV equipment, chlorination, manifolding, transmission, and distribution lines, permitting, etc.
Experience/training with MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Civil 3D, WaterGEMS, or other software platforms.
