Position Summary The Department of History at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty positions to teach courses across our broad range of content. These positions are temporary and require an ability to teach both in-person and online. Teach assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students. Prepare course materials and lesson plans; grade student work and provide robust feedback in a timely manner. Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies; provide online or in-person academic support as needed. Deliver instruction aligned with the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies. Maintain office hours; comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. Demonstrate adaptability to new modes of instruction and sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in history or closely related field Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate in History or related field Teaching experience (assignments to particular courses based on departmental needs and the applicant’s education/experience in the areas to be taught) Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person on campus upon hire. Salary
