The Department of Health Professions at MSU Denver invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in Public Health. Teach 3 or more credit hours in Public Health. Areas may include: Principles of Public Health; Global Health Systems; Health Behavior Theory; Introduction to Epidemiology; Community Health Assessment; Environmental Issues in Public Health; Health Policy; Health Program Planning, Implementing, and Evaluation; Fundamentals of Community Health Worker; Advanced Community Health Worker. Other course content areas may be developed and available for instruction. Available for consultation with students. Deliver course content in person or online, prepare course materials and lesson plans, grade student work, provide timely, robust feedback, address student questions in line with university, college/school, and department policies, and provide appropriate academic support as needed for the teaching assignment. Ensure instruction aligns with the course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies; comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. Demonstrate adaptability and willingness to learn new modes of instruction; be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree, plus four years of relevant work experience; or dissertation complete, defense pending; or doctorate degree; or professional degree Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment.
