Lecturer of Communication
Location: Kennesaw, Georgia
Regular, Full-Time, 9-month contract, start August 2026.
Job Summary Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Communication in the School of Communication and Media with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate courses in production (including COMM 3340, MENT 4454, 4464, JOUR Production Courses)
Service to the School, College, University, and/or profession is expected.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Communication, Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Production, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
OR
A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level
Industry Experience in Multimedia Reporting
Broadcast Reporting
Documentary
Commercial Production
Client Relations
Professional Experience with Short-form media production
Advertising Media Production
Contract Media Production
Audio Engineering
Digital Media Production
Industry-current skills in Journalism
Multimedia Production
