Overview
JOB SPECIFICS:
Performing comprehensive neurological assessments and evaluations for patients with epilepsy and seizure disorders.
Collaborating with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and other specialists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with epilepsy.
Prescribing and monitoring antiepileptic medications and other therapies, such as vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), responsive neurostimulation (RNS), or ketogenic diet.
Educating patients and families about epilepsy, seizure types, triggers, prevention, safety, and self-management.
Providing follow-up care and support to patients with epilepsy, including managing seizures, breakthrough seizures, and seizure emergencies.
Participating in quality improvement initiatives and research projects related to epilepsy care.
Position is Monday-Friday working both with inpatient and outpatient settings.

Clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $55.20 - $70.09
Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement.

Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
Licensed to provide either an advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act] OR [physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987 ("Act") Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics.
BLS/ALS Certified Experience is preferred however; new graduates will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of two years of clinical experience in neurology, preferably in epilepsy.
A strong knowledge of evidence-based guidelines and best practices in epilepsy care.
