What we are looking for in you: Glyphic is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join the Chemistry Department to assist in the advancement of our cutting-edge single molecule proteome sequencing platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nucleic acid & protein chemistry, bioconjugation, analytical instrumentation, and be eager to contribute to transformative advances in proteomics. The scientist will work with a cross-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and bio-informaticians to rapidly deliver consistent results and insights that accelerate the development cycle. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize high throughput chemical reagent evaluation for single molecule protein sequencing, ensuring high sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility Synthesize assay specific reagents and materials for the proteome sequencing platform Develop and/or validate peptide sample preparation schemes, such as C-terminal conjugation and amino acid sidechain derivatization Collaborate with cross-functional teams to problem solve and integrate novel solutions into the assay workflow Analyze complex experimental data, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to guide further development Utilize statistical methods and data visualization tools to interpret assay performance and ensure rigorous quality control Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation of experimental protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and results Drive innovation in reagent and compound synthesis and design and contribute to intellectual property development PhD in chemistry, organic chemistry, or related field with 5+ years of relevant post-graduate experience, preferably in an industrial or startup setting Comprehensive knowledge in bioconjugation and biorthogonal conjugation methods and techniques Experience with peptide synthesis, characterization, and purification Experience with nucleic acid synthesis, natural and modified analogs Knowledgeable about protein purification and fractionation from complex sample matrices Analytical experience with HPLC, LC/MS, NMR, FTIR, UV/VIS, CE Proficiency in scalable surface chemistry methods and techniques for flow cells and/or solid supports Experience inthe development of commercial products, a plus Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document experiments clearly and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams Experience in data analysis software Experience instatistical and DOE software Adapts to fast-paced environments with changing priorities and responsibilities Compensation Estimated Base Salary $120K – $183K This is the pay range for this position that we reasonably expect to pay. Individual compensation is based on various factors including, experience, education, skillset, and geographic location. This range is for the SF Bay Area, California location and may be adjusted to the labor market in other geographic areas. Benefits and Perks:
