Industrial Hygiene and Safety Professional

Arcadis is seeking an Industrial Hygiene and Safety Professional to join our Sustainable Operations team in the Novi, Michigan office. This role is approximately 75% field work and 25% office work. Projects will primarily consist of asbestos, lead-paint, hazardous building materials, indoor air quality/mold, IH exposure monitoring, building characterization assessments, soil/water sampling, project monitoring/oversight, and report preparation. Candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience and possess the proper licenses and credentials to complete the job. Specific training will be provided by Arcadis. As a Consultant with Arcadis, you'll collaborate with staff on a range of projects, contribute to an innovative Industrial Hygiene space, mentor staff, and gain experience across diverse environmental projects and market sectors. Your career growth will be driven by your skills and passion for success. Role accountabilities

Complete surveys, bulk sampling oversight, air monitoring, and assessments of various projects, including manufacturing plants, warehouses, public and private buildings, schools, and residential homes. Assist with reports for projects using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other programs; scope projects and prepare proposals with senior staff members. Complete asbestos and lead-paint surveys and abatement projects, indoor air and mold investigations, mold/water damage remediation projects, ventilation assessments, and the development and review of health and safety plans (HASPs). Work in a client-oriented consulting environment focusing on industrial hygiene practice (asbestos, lead-paint, hazardous building materials management, indoor air quality and mold evaluations, and chemical exposure assessments). Be mentored by senior EH&S consultants and mentor junior staff within the Industrial Hygiene group. Perform inspections/surveys for asbestos, lead, mold (water intrusion), IAQ, and other regulated building materials. Travel as needed (may include overnight trips); possess a valid driver license; pass a medical exam and be medically cleared to wear a negative pressure respirator; and be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs of equipment during an 8-hour shift. Qualifications & Experience

Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in a science-related discipline or equivalent years of experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in professional services or consulting. State-specific asbestos training and licensure. Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulations for asbestos, etc. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Experience with report preparation Industry-recognized certification in industrial hygiene (e.g., CIH, IHT) and/or indoor environmental or air quality consulting (e.g., CIEC, CIAQP) NIOSH 582 training Why Arcadis?
