Postdoctoral Researcher – Macrophage Biology An excellent postdoctoral research opportunity is immediately available in the laboratory of Woong‑Ki Kim at the Tulane National Primate Research Center to explore macrophage biology and to develop macrophage‑targeted therapy for the treatment of HIV‑associated neurocognitive disorder (HAND), Alzheimer’s disease, obesity, and diabetes. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scholar who wants to pursue an academic career in neuroimmunology and macrophage biology. The laboratory uses non‑human primate (NHP) models to connect mouse investigations and human observations of many chronic inflammatory diseases.

The postdoctoral fellow positions will manage NIH‑funded studies that are exploring the role of macrophages in HAND and brain aging. Open research opportunities also include the investigation of the therapeutic potential of macrophage‑targeted approaches in the translational NHP models of diabetes and obesity. All these projects are supported by highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams of scientists and extensive core services.
