An excellent postdoctoral research opportunity is immediately available in the laboratory of Woong-Ki Kim at the Tulane National Primate Research Center to explore macrophage biology and to develop macrophage-targeted therapy for the treatment of HAND, Alzheimer’s disease, obesity, and diabetes. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scholar who wants to pursue an academic career in neuroimmunology and macrophage biology. The laboratory uses non-human primate (NHP) models to connect mouse investigations and human observations of many chronic inflammatory diseases.
Responsibilities
Manage NIH-funded studies exploring the role of macrophages in HAND and brain aging.
Investigate therapeutic potential of macrophage-targeted approaches in translational NHP models of diabetes and obesity.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and core services to advance the research program.
Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent in immunology and/or neuroscience or a related biological science.
Background in bioinformatics and computational biology encouraged.
Multi-year commitment to postdoctoral training.
