The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered professional nurse who has the most direct impact on the care and services that patients and families require throughout their hospital experience. The ANM is directly responsible for the continual operation of a specified nursing unit. The ANM demonstrates critical thinking, resource management to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The ANM coaches, motivates, mentors, and leads a professional and technical team in delivering services for the patient population. The ANM monitors quality of care and demonstrates effective stewardship of resources. The ANM acts as a change agent for assigned areas and implements changes in conjunction with the Manager/Director. The ANM participates in outstanding customer service, maintaining respectful relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other contacts. The value you’ll bring to the team
Assists the Manager/Director in development, implementation and evaluation of ongoing service programs which assure quality nursing and patient care programs aligned with the hospital mission. Assists the Manager/Director to monitor/maintain unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for patient services, environmental and personnel safety. Collaborates with Manager/Director to oversee unit PI program that monitors and evaluates aspects of care. Identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow-through and communication. Collaborates with the Manager/Director to ensure service consistency with patient care beliefs and the shared management philosophy of the department. Responsibilities
This role has the most direct impact on the care and services provided on the unit and includes monitoring operations, coaching staff, and ensuring compliance with hospital guidelines to deliver high-quality patient care. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing on hire Associate or higher degree in nursing Active Florida RN or APRN license required on hire Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or RQI on hire Current American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification or RQI on hire Organization
