The incoming Senior Pastor will be based at the Sacramento church location and can enjoy the many advantages of living in the area. The city boasts a strong economy and a wide array of job opportunities, particularly in healthcare and technology, all while maintaining a relatively average cost of living compared to other major California cities. The next Senior Pastor will be someone who maintains a close relationship with Jesus, engages in fervent prayer, and listens attentively to the Holy Spirit. The Bible will serve as their primary source of spiritual life. This individual will deliver practical, meaningful, and inspirational messages each Sunday, guided by a commitment to following God’s voice. Sermons should be substantive, relatable, mature, and able to inspire the congregation. The new Senior Pastor will embrace the challenge of working with various ministries, volunteer pastors, and the Interim Pastor. They must build trust through patience, transparency, open communication, and constructive feedback. As a highly relational leader, the Senior Pastor will dedicate time to listening to the stories and experiences of leaders, staff, and congregants, demonstrating vulnerability and a strong commitment to accountability. These qualities will help strengthen connections and foster a culture of trust within the church. A collaborative approach is essential; the Senior Pastor will be committed to developing discipleship pathways for all ages and ministries, nurturing personal growth, equipping members to actively live out their faith, and leading outreach efforts in the community. The congregation at Ignite seeks a deeper spiritual walk and desires to grow as a diverse, spiritually robust church. By listening, encouraging, and empowering others, the new pastor will help cultivate a thriving, united team. Preferred Candidate Qualifications

A deep commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Clear alignment with the vision and values of Ignite Community Church. Education: Experienced pastor; graduate of a four-year seminary or theological school. Ordination: Evangelical background Preferably 5–10 years of pastoral experience in a similar role, demonstrating effective leadership, ministry development, and community outreach. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse congregation and adapt to various ministry contexts. Strong leadership skills, with a passion for empowering others and fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment. A profound understanding of and commitment to the Bible, Christian theology, and the relevant denominational tradition. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, organize events, work effectively under pressure, and prepare biblically sound sermons. A heart for pastoral care and the ability to provide compassionate and empathetic support to congregation members during times of need. Applicants are limited to domestic candidates due to the complexity of immigration requirements. Both internal and external candidates will be considered. Internal candidates currently serving as a pastor at the church are not required to resign to apply for the position. Inquiry Process
