The Route Sales Specialist II (RSS II) is a certified trainer responsible for training new Route Sales Representatives (RSR) and Route Sales Trainees (RST), supporting all training processes. The RSS II also handles ordering, sales, delivery, and merchandising of a slate of nationally- and locally-branded fresh baked products while developing relationships with customers’ managers and staff. You will service company routes on an as-needed basis to maximize sales opportunities and meet customer expectations by following established best practices. The role drives incremental sales by executing market programs and exceeding customer expectations. Note: This role may require non-traditional hours, weekends, holidays, and potential overnight travel depending on route needs. Responsibilities

Leverage internal sales data and company marketing plans to drive growth with customers through proper planning, ordering, and execution. Operate company routes as needed and provide coverage for RSR time-off. Provide a high level of in-field training to new RSRs and RSTs on tasks and objectives outlined in the Route Sales Operations Manual. Establish and maintain strong customer relations to communicate sales solutions and improve satisfaction. Order product using the online order planner to ensure customers receive the freshest product possible. Increase sales through shelf space expansion and the use of in-store promotions and displays. Adhere to route structure, stop sequence, and service times to drive efficiency and ensure consistent service. Follow retailer/account standard operating procedures, including check-in/check-out and service windows. Rotate stock per fresh market policy and remove damaged or out-of-code product as necessary. Follow shelf-life cycles for each brand/product and maximize shelf life with proper rotation. Perform daily route settlement: verify quantities, invoice accounts, and adhere to cash collection policy. Conduct weekly inventory in handheld devices at select accounts on designated days. Support the introduction of new products to the market based on retailer playbooks to gain shelf space and promotional displays. Obtain authorization for promotional displays and place/assemble displays to maximize exposure and sales penetration. Review weekly route analysis to identify voids and sales opportunities; monitor KPIs to reduce costs and drive sales. Adhere to customer shelf schematics/planograms to meet objectives of brand teams. Master Route Sales training program best practices and maintain compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements (DOT, etc.). Must be able to obtain DOT medical certification to drive a CMV and meet fleet insurance guidelines related to MVR. Perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain vehicle records, report maintenance issues, and complete daily logs as required. Safely operate a vehicle with GVWR > 10,000 pounds and comply with DOT policies and local/federal regulations. Maintain an organized workspace and secure inventory in the truck to prevent damage. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Harassment, Sarbanes–Oxley, etc.). Other duties as assigned by management to support operations, including attendance and schedule adherence. Must be able to acquire and maintain a DOT medical card. Qualifications

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications Minimum of 1 year related experience in retail sales, DSD sales, and/or B2B sales. Essential Job Requirements High school diploma or GED.
