Position Summary
Independently performs all mammographic procedures utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Works within their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture. Coordinates patient flow and activities in the mammography department. Exercises professional judgment to maintain equipment in good condition. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs.

Essential Duties & Functions:
Performs diagnostic-quality mammographic procedures as ordered, evaluating images for technical quality.
Obtains clinical history and data for correlation.
Implements safety measures and performs QC as required.
Practices sterile techniques during biopsies.
Assists radiologist in procedures and emergency treatments.
Coordinates patient care to optimize satisfaction.
Educates patients and families about procedures.
Ensures proper documentation and verifies physician orders.
Maintains emergency equipment knowledge.
Follows radiation safety policies.
Education:
Associate degree in Allied Health, major in Radiologic Technology, with all mammography courses completed.
Licensure/Certification:
CPR certification within 30 days, ARRT RT (R), ARRT RT (M) within 6 months, ODH licensure.
Experience:
No prior experience required; one year preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of human anatomy, EMR, RIS, image storage, radiation safety, FDA/MQSA database.
