Overview Three Rivers Behavioral Health

is a 136‑bed behavioral health facility located in West Columbia, SC. The unit coordinator supports inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs by maintaining a safe environment, performing admissions, and leading daily unit groups.

Hours:

10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

Utilize patient activity schedule, unit rules and group structure to maintain consistency in the milieu.

Perform clerical and reception duties in support of the department at the nurses station and ensure the program schedule is carried out as planned.

Assist with the duties of a Mental Health Technician (MHT) as necessary.

Key Physical Requirements

Ability to walk and stand continuously for the duration of shift.

Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or horizontally between positions.

Exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.

Manual dexterity and physical agility to perform de‑escalation procedures.

Must calmly and therapeutically handle aggressive, hostile, and irrational behavior of patients.

Must respond immediately to crises concerning patients and/or family members while working and concentrating amidst distractions such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field preferred; High School Diploma required.

Minimum one year as an MHT at Three Rivers Behavioral Health.

Must hold or become an MHT Preceptor.
