Business Systems Analyst
We’re seeking an experienced
Business Systems Analyst
to provide
cybersecurity compliance and process documentation support
for an energy sector technology team responsible for maintaining critical real‑time systems.
About the Role This position supports
Energy Management Systems (EMS)
within a highly regulated environment, ensuring that change management, configuration, and security compliance processes meet federal standards such as
NERC‑CIP ,
FISMA , and
NIST . You’ll work closely with engineers, IT professionals, and compliance specialists to maintain secure and reliable systems that support essential grid operations.
What You’ll Do
Support
change management and configuration control
processes for system updates and releases.
Develop and maintain
cybersecurity compliance documentation , reports, and audit materials.
Assist in ensuring ongoing compliance with
NERC‑CIP ,
NIST , and
FISMA
security standards.
Create and update
processes, procedures, and job aids
for configuration and compliance activities.
Facilitate issue tracking and documentation in a
DevOps environment
using
Atlassian/Jira
tools.
Provide administrative support for audit preparation, certification activities, and quality assurance reviews.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve compliance processes and maintain system reliability.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years
of directly related experience in business systems analysis, IT process management, or cybersecurity compliance.
Strong understanding of the
software development lifecycle (SDLC)
in
high‑availability environments .
Hands‑on experience with
change/configuration management systems .
Experience using Atlassian or similar DevOps tools
(e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a
utility or control center environment .
Familiarity with
NERC‑CIP ,
FISMA , or
NIST
compliance frameworks.
Experience developing and rolling out new processes or compliance procedures.
Understanding of
security standards, policies, and controls
for critical systems.
Contract Duration:
12 months (with potential for extension)
Work Location:
Vancouver, WA or Spokane, WA (some hybrid flexibility)
Eligibility:
U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a federal background check required
