HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT The Community Outreach Coordinator’s primary role is to oversee the recruitment, training, appreciation, coordination and management of volunteers within Yamhill County LCSNW programs. This position will work in coordination with the District Leadership Team to ensure that the volunteer program supports district program needs and development goals.
Develop and maintain fruitful relationships with key volunteer sources (i.e. higher education institutions, businesses, service groups, schools, and churches) for potential sources of volunteers and interns.
Maintain an up to date understanding of the volunteer needs of the district and make regular reports on the progress in meeting those needs.
Recruit volunteers through presentations, tours, participation in recruitment events, and ongoing contact with Leadership Council members and other potential volunteer sources.
Ensure that agency volunteerism remains in high visibility within the County.
Work with the Advancement Manager to identify volunteers who could contribute to resource development efforts or support the programs.
Work with Program Managers to create meaningful workflows and handoffs to support a volunteer from recruitment to placement in a volunteer role within a program.
Coordinate intern recruitment activities with program staff when appropriate.
In partnership with program staff create a high-quality volunteer training program that supports their work as well as attracts and retains volunteers.
Coordinate and direct fundraising and special volunteer projects for large community groups.
Ensure that volunteers receive meaningful recognition as appropriate for their role.
HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT
Must have experience coordinating events
Must have experience with volunteer recruitment and volunteer management
Must be able to work well under pressure, multitask, set priorities, manage time efficiently, and work independently
Must have the ability to treat all office and client information with confidentiality
Must have intermediate computer and Microsoft skills
Have respectful, open, unbiased, and accepting attitude toward clients and their families
Must be able to work in a multicultural environment
