Job Description
The Data Center Technician will be responsible for supporting critical infrastructure operations and ensuring optimal performance of hardware and network systems. Key responsibilities include: Preparing, staging, setting up, and performing startups and shutdowns of hardware (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) following detailed instructions and standard protocols. Conducting post-execution quality checks to verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling meet safety and deployment standards. Performing diagnostics and troubleshooting, identifying root causes, and replacing faulty components promptly. Decommissioning hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) with minimal guidance. Communicating, reporting, and escalating incidents to Datacenter Technician Leads according to established procedures. Supporting logistics and warehouse operations, including sending/receiving equipment and handling storage media/data-bearing devices. Performing audits, RMA processing, and coordination with logistics teams. Installing software and firmware updates, building out racks, and performing power cycles. Labeling cables, cleaning fiber links, and troubleshooting connectivity issues. Required Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components. 1+ year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word). Flexibility to work non-standard business hours, including weekends and holidays. Previous data center experience is a plus. The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
