The

Medical College of Wisconsin's

Department of Emergency Medicine

is seeking a

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

to support the

Emergency Medicine Services in the Greater Milwaukee area. The

Advanced Practice Provider

(APP) collaborates as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, contributing to program administration, patient care, safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. The

Ideal Candidate

should possess strong clinical and critical-thinking skills, be a team player, thrive in a fast-paced ED setting, and be eager to join a collaborative academic practice at MCW. In this role you will:

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams in diagnosing and treating emergency conditions. Evaluate quality outcomes and participate in developing quality indicators and dashboards. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, splinting, and abscess drainage, consistent with privileges and competency validation. Facilitate patient referrals to community healthcare resources in collaboration with social services, case management, and financial counseling. Core Advanced Practice Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, noting normal and abnormal findings. Order, perform, interpret diagnostic tests, and document findings clearly. Write accurate progress, procedure, admission, and transfer notes. Develop and monitor treatment plans, including pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical options. Educate patients about their conditions and treatments. Perform procedures as trained and credentialed. Document in the EMR and complete necessary documentation. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers as appropriate. Educate and counsel patients and families on health issues and preventive care. Attend required training and meet regulatory requirements. Stay updated on trends and developments in the PA or Nurse Practitioner field. The above describes the general nature of the work. Preferred Experience:

Previous APP or RN ED experience preferred; EMT or ER Tech experience a plus. Minimum Education: Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies Minimum Requirements:
