As a Sous Chef at SLS Hotels in the Van Nuys area, you will play a vital role in our culinary team. We are seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to assist the Executive Chef in managing our kitchen operations. The successful candidate will have a passion for the culinary arts and be responsible for helping plan and direct food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and managing inventory.
Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of food preparation and cooking
Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food production
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative and exciting menu items
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Monitor food inventory and order supplies when needed
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen
Excellent knowledge of culinary arts and cooking techniques
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
Culinary degree or equivalent experience
