Overview
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Experimental Low-Energy Nuclear Physics. The position is expected to be filled at the assistant professor level, but applications from exceptional researchers at higher ranks (Associate Professor, Full Professor) will also be considered. Responsibilities
Develop a research program in low-energy nuclear physics centered around the Notre Dame Nuclear Science Laboratory (https://isnap.nd.edu) or CASPAR (https://caspar.nd.edu). Opportunities also exist for additional experimental programs at nearby facilities such as ATLAS and FRIB. Teach effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and engage with students from diverse backgrounds; contribute to service within the department and university. Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Physics or a related field. Application Instructions
Submit a curriculum vitae, list of publications, detailed research plans, and a statement of teaching and mentoring. Research statement should describe the candidate’s program, goals, accomplishments to date, and planned research at Notre Dame. Not to exceed five pages. Teaching and mentoring statement should outline past experience and future plans, including efforts to improve diversity and inclusion. Not to exceed three pages.
