Engineering Technician – Prototype Integration team Location: Poway, CA Duties and Responsibilities
Fabricate, assemble, modify, and install moderate‑complex electronic equipment and experimental assemblies. Utilize electrical and RF theory to troubleshoot basic circuits and electronic systems. Operate a variety of electronic test equipment and calibrate equipment prior to experimentation. Set up and conduct moderately complex experiments and tests following operating procedures. Identify operational or equipment problems and report deficiencies. Maintain and repair equipment using basic hand and specialized tools. Observe all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Work safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Collaborate and work independently as required. Additional Functions
Perform housekeeping and cleanup duties as required. May provide guidance or training to other technicians. Other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent with five or more years of experience, or substitute equivalent experience. Military or technical school training and/or experience in test or experimental operations highly desirable. Ability and willingness to work on systems with unusual conditions such as high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or other hazardous environmental factors. Strong knowledge of electrical theory including AC and DC power. Understanding of wiring harnesses and cable manufacturing processes. Knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the field required. IPC J‑STD soldering and wire harness assembly experience and certifications desired. Must have communication skills necessary to write and record technical information and generate detailed reports. Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
