Primary Purpose Provides a crime prevention and life‑safety presence on campus by observing and reporting, facilitating campus use through control of NSU property, investigating incidents, and communicating crime‑prevention goals to the NSU community.
Essential Job Functions
Detects and responds to safety hazards to ensure safety of employees and visitors.
Provides physical inspections and investigations on campus to ensure a safe environment.
Conducts security and safety audits to identify hazards and dangers.
Conducts accident and injury investigations on campus to maintain proper incident records.
Completes activity logs and incident reports to ensure proper record keeping.
Coordinates with local law enforcement concerning investigation of incidents, crimes, and losses.
Conducts fire system inspections and emergency response drills.
Provides for locking and unlocking access control for campus buildings.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of bending, climbing, sitting and/or standing up to 8 hours.
May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, including pens, pencils and computer keyboards.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
Required Certifications / Licenses Current and valid Florida Driver's License with no more than 3 points.
Required Education High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Required Experience Previous customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Parking enforcement specialist certification.
Previous customer service, public safety, security, or police experience.
Previous experience with Microsoft Office products.
Background Screening Required Yes.
