Join to apply for the Van Driver - Trotwood role at Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be able to pass an extensive FBI Background Check. Must be willing to drive a wheelchair accessible van, minibus or transit vehicle for up to 12 passengers. This position works a split shift of morning and afternoon hours Monday-Friday. No weekends required. Responsibilities
Transport participants in agency vehicle to and from program services and job sites, as scheduled, providing door-to-door assistance. Ensure appropriate safety measures while driving GESMV vehicles. Maintain safe, secure and clean physical environment (e.g., seat belts fastened, wheelchairs secured, vans washed and swept). Review and follow all individual service plans as written for individuals transported. Observe participants for abuse and neglect, as well as communicable disease and their general emotional, mental and physical condition. Report all concerns or incidents to the Program Coordinator or the Immediate Supervisor and complete required agency incident report. Incident report may also be required to be sent to funder according to funding rules and regulations. Accurately record daily mileage, drop off and pick up times and participants' attendance. Electronically submit all documentation to supervisor through the designated billing system concerning client contact, route sheets and other required billing documentation on a daily/weekly basis. Maintain efficient routes and schedules for pick up and drop offs. Provide effective communication regarding changes to route to supervisor and/or participant being transported. Conduct and document daily and monthly safety vehicle inspections and report needed repairs to Immediate Supervisor. Refuel and check oil and fluids daily. Attend staff meetings, in-services and other meetings as assigned. Complete all required annual and monthly trainings as assigned. Provide courteous and professional service at all times. Follow scheduled route with no unauthorized or personal stops. Ensure reliable transportation to/from work and willingness to travel to assist other agency programs. Adhere to Ohio Safety Laws at all times. Complete specific training in transferring and lifting of target population. Training provided in emergency procedures. Maintain a valid driver's license with 4 points or less on license at all times. Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards. All other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator and/or Immediate Supervisor. Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or a GED. Experience: At least 1 year experience transporting the target population. Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate initiative; ability to work in a team; knowledge of city and surrounding communities; ability to navigate safely; care, warmth, and patience toward the target population; ability to follow through with assigned responsibilities; acceptance of GESMV's Mission and Purpose; ability to read and interpret safety and operating documents; ability to write business correspondence and routing reports; ability to utilize technology; ability to speak effectively with staff, participants and the public; ability to apply common sense and handle daily operational challenges with a calm demeanor. Physical Demands: Regularly light to moderate lifting; vision requirements; pass initial and yearly physical. Other: Must maintain a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider; must pass criminal background check and random drug screens. Employment details
