Job Description

The University of Georgia is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant (Ph.D.) to work in the Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for surveying commercial cole crops fields for the distribution of fungicide resistance among Alternaria sp. using traditional and molecular methods. Responsibilities: Work in laboratory, greenhouse, and field to study the distribution of fungicide resistance among Alternaria sp. Decipher modes of seed infection and associated mitigation strategies. Continue graduate student course credits. Writing reports and presenting data in symposiums. Requirements: M.S. degree in Plant Pathology. Experience with mycology and bioinformatics are preferred but not required. The University of Georgia is an Equal Opportunity employer.
