Overview
Fred Finch Youth & Family Services is seeking an Assistant Controller. Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer or Controller, this role oversees the operational elements of the accounting and finance functions, including daily management of staff responsible for revenue management (medical billing and claims and accounts receivable), program cost reimbursement, general accounting and financial systems integrity, accounts payable, payroll, auditing and financial reporting, and support to the FF accounting function. This role ensures accurate and timely preparation of financial records and smooth operations across the accounting department. What You Will Do
Oversee the operational elements of the accounting and finance functions under the CFO/Controller direction. Manage staff responsible for revenue management (medical billing and claims, accounts receivable). Oversee program cost reimbursement accounting for residential/housing/school and community-based services. Ensure general accounting and financial systems integrity, accounts payable, payroll, auditing and financial reporting. Provide guidance and support to Fred Finch Youth and Family Services, Inc./CARES (FF) accounting function. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial records and smooth operations across the accounting department. Shifts and Schedule

Knowledge of: principles and techniques for collaborating with staff to foster effective team interaction; accounting, auditing, financial analysis and reporting, and budget principles and procedures; assembling, reconciling, and preparing financial statements and reports; reconciling and balancing financial ledgers and transactions across multiple systems; audit and quality control for financial documentation; relevant laws and regulations including HIPAA, GAAP, and FASB; modern equipment and communication tools; very strong Excel skills for analysis, reporting and reconciliation. Ability to: manage details while maintaining the big picture; lead diverse teams; research and evaluate new service delivery methods and procedures; conduct accounting and budgetary research projects; evaluate and recommend policy changes; present financial and programmatic information clearly; work independently with priorities and deadlines; communicate clearly in English and build positive working relationships. Education and Experience
Education: B.A. degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or economics from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience: Five (5) years’ experience supervising and/or overseeing accounting operations, preferably in a nonprofit or public entity; two (2) years of direct management experience. Our Mission
