Position Summary: Associate – Specialty Finance (Asset-Based Credit Group) Location:
New York, NY (in-person) Group Focus
Invests across the capital structure in the specialty finance sector Focus areas include consumer finance, commercial finance, and other contractual cash-flowing receivables Strategies include lending against and acquiring assets Emphasizes deep industry research, data analysis, and bespoke deal structuring Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain asset-based financial models and databases Conduct asset valuation, pricing analysis, and comparative performance reviews Perform client and asset due diligence Prepare internal investment committee memos Review and support transaction legal documentation Support portfolio monitoring, risk assessment, and ongoing asset management Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field 2–3+ years of experience in finance, with direct exposure to asset-based transactions Background in investment banking, securitization, asset-based lending, or structured credit Strong Excel modeling and analytical skills; database or programming skills are a plus Familiarity with securitization structures and specialty finance companies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-driven and able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
