This position will assist with the financial aspects of a large, multi-business unit manufacturing facility. This includes performing a range of cost accounting, inventory analysis, budgeting, quarterly plan reviews and general accounting activities. Responsibilities
Promote a safety culture and awareness within their area of responsibility and support all plant safety policies and procedures. Participate in preparation of annual plant budget and quarterly reforecasts (PPR’s – Profit Positioning Reports). Assist department managers with data gathering such as prior year spends and current actuals. Consolidate overhead spending and review purchase prices for direct manufacturing costs. Notify corporate of purchasing changes of 10% or more. Conduct month-end closing activities with department managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of inventory movements and production. Execute SAP month-end closing, review and elimination of master data-related errors through settlement. Prepare journal entries as needed. Assist with preparation of monthly cost reports including overhead and direct manufacturing cost (DMC) spending and analysis. Prepare variance analysis between planned vs. actual spend and efficiencies. Establish and monitor labor and utility costs in Work In Process (WIP) inventory. Maintain costing systems and input data into SAP as needed. Prepare and coordinate disposal requisitions of non-conforming or obsolete inventory, equipment and/or raw materials. Conduct analysis of labor hours and dollars by functional area, including full-time and temporary employees. Monitor hourly benefits liability estimates and allocation of actual costs. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts. Participate in MRO (Maintenance and Repair Operations) cycle count process and perform inventory reserve calculations based on inventory levels, turns and obsolescence. Prepare, analyze and review cost data to support department managers. Review all BOMs (Bill of Materials) for price/quantity variance issues and resolve. Lead plant cost savings initiatives, including idea generation, tracking and reporting. Adhere to Corporate Accounting requirements, practices and policies; promote fair and consistent adherence to local and corporate policies. Foster and maintain good employee relations through appropriate communications and positive employee relations practices. Perform other related duties as required and assigned. Minimum Education, Training and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required. Five to seven years of solid cost accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on monthly cost closings. SAP experience with emphasis in Production Planning / Product Costing module strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization. Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc. Excellent organizational/time management skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite – especially Excel). Experience in SAP PP/PC systems preferred. Ability to analyze data and make appropriate recommendations. Basic working knowledge of manufacturing and distribution operations. Compensation and Benefits
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $104,800 – $149,200. This position is also eligible for a bonus. U.S. employees are entitled to paid holidays, floating holidays, and vacation days starting in their first year of employment depending on hire date. The actual base pay offered will be based on factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity.
