Responsibilities

Teach courses to which the adjunct has specific training or competence; plan, organize, teach, and provide feedback to promote student learning in classroom, remote, or online environments. Engage students outside of class via office hours and provide thorough, timely, and effective feedback regarding mastery of course and program learning outcomes. Create a learning environment that facilitates students’ acquisition of knowledge and skills in the discipline and/or program. Align course activities with student learning outcomes; employ active learning strategies and appropriate technology and materials; provide prompt, meaningful feedback; and communicate with students in a timely and respectful manner. Deliver instruction aligned with stated learning outcomes; participate in student surveys of instruction; conduct meaningful and timely assessments of student learning (including at least one assessment within the first 15% of the class); review previous semester evaluations and implement improvement actions as necessary. Possibly work during day, evening, or weekend as determined by the course(s) assigned; hold at least 1 office hour per week for each course.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's / Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Architecture or Engineering Technology related field OR an Associate Degree in Architecture or Engineering Technology with demonstrated competency in the teaching field. Two years related work experience. Ability to communicate effectively in an electronic format.

Additional Considerations

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, or 3DS Max (latest revisions). College-level teaching experience. Knowledge of CANVAS or other learning management systems. Knowledge of and experience with proven teaching strategies that promote student success. Candidates should possess sufficient technology skills to work productively in a technology-rich organization.
