Position Summary

The Quality Data & Insights Analyst plays a critical role in advancing our health systems quality and safety goals by transforming complex clinical and operational data into actionable insights. This position partners with performance improvement, infection prevention, regulatory, and patient safety teams to extract, analyze, visualize, and communicate key healthcare metrics to senior leadership.

This is not a passive reporting role our analysts dig deep into administrative data, translate complex quality specifications, benchmark performance, and help drive strategic decisions. Youll work with cutting-edge tools (Power BI, Vizient, EMR data) to build dashboards, guide target-setting, and tell compelling data stories that shape real-world outcomes for patients and teams across the system.

Responsibilities

Extract, transform, and validate data from Vizient, EMRs, and internal audit platforms (e.g., AMP, Power Apps, Microsoft Forms) Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and Excel visualizations for inpatient quality metrics (e.g., mortality, readmissions, length of stay, HAI, PSI, THK complications, EDAC) Collaborate with IS/BI teams to build robust data models and ensure alignment across platforms Analyze trends and benchmark performance using CMS Care Compare, AHRQ, and Vizient data Create clear, executive-ready visual reports and presentations (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Translate technical metric specifications (CMS, NUBC, AHRQ) into digestible insights and action plans Partner with clinical operations, quality teams, and senior leadership to inform target setting and improvement strategy Apply statistical methods (e.g., control charts, z-scores, SDs) and provide contextual interpretation of performance trends Participate in iterative improvement work using Agile/sprint methodologies Ensure data quality through structured validation and audit processes

Minimum Requirements

Associate degree or higher in applicable field or higher is required.

1 year or more experience in healthcare field

Certification in specialty preferred within 3 years & maintained thereafter.

Preferred Requirements

Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint) Solid understanding of healthcare quality metrics, benchmarking, and clinical data sources Ability to translate complex data definitions/specifications into meaningful insights Demonstrated experience communicating trends and recommendations to executive stakeholders Knowledge of healthcare regulatory programs (e.g., CMS, Leapfrog, Vizient) and national comparison groups Familiarity with statistical concepts (e.g., SPC, z-scores, rankings) Strong collaboration, project management, and communication skills
