As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Lines Placement Specialist to join our team. Position Summary

The Commercial Lines Placement Specialist is responsible for strategic placement and negotiation of commercial insurance; responsible for the life cycle of new business from start to finish. This role involves working closely with Risk Advisors and underwriters to ensure the most competitive and comprehensive insurance solutions are delivered to prospects. The Placement Specialist leverages market knowledge and strong relationships with insurance carriers to facilitate efficient placement of commercial accounts. The Placement Specialist must possess extensive knowledge of available insurance markets through the agency’s carriers. This position suits someone with strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and a solid understanding of commercial lines insurance. Key Responsibilities

Evaluate Submissions : Review, prepare, and analyze commercial insurance submissions for completeness, accuracy, coverage depth, and underwriting eligibility across various industries and lines of coverage. Develop Marketing Strategies : Collaborate with producers and other members of the Avery team to develop effective marketing strategies for new business, including identifying appropriate carriers and programs. Negotiate with Carriers : Solicit, negotiate, and secure competitive solutions from a broad network of insurance carriers, leveraging established market relationships. Challenge declinations when appropriate. Prepare Proposals : Compile and present comprehensive coverage comparisons, premium analyses, and recommendations to present to prospective clients. Ensure Timely Placement : Manage timelines to ensure policies are bound, issued, and delivered on time while maintaining service standards and minimizing gaps in coverage. Maintain Carrier Relationships : Foster and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters to stay current on market trends, appetite changes, and new product offerings. Support Agency Compliance : Ensure all placements adhere to agency procedures, underwriting guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements. Documentation and Compliance : Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, policies, and documents within agency management systems. Client Education : Educating clients on their policies, risk management strategies, and any changes in insurance laws or market trends that might impact their coverage needs. Industry Knowledge : Stay informed on industry trends, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge, performance and value add to our clients. Team Collaboration : Interact effectively with colleagues, offering guidance and collaborating purposefully to achieve agency business goals. Support members of Avery’s Processing Team through collaboration and mentorship. Perform other duties as assigned . Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Key Characteristics

In-depth Commercial Insurance Knowledge : Thorough understanding of all forms of commercial coverage and risk alternatives, with a strong technical foundation in the insurance industry. Rating and Underwriting Expertise : Comprehensive knowledge of insurance rating processes and underwriting procedures. Attention to Detail : Highly meticulous with the ability to maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment, while remaining calm and composed under pressure. Time Management and Prioritization : Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities, ensuring deadlines are met effectively. Expectation of 24-hour turn around time in responding to clients, company partners and any matters related to client’s coverage. Complex Problem-Solving : Capable of handling both concrete and abstract variables to complete complex tasks and deliver well-thought-out solutions. Effective Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex issues, interpret information, and respond appropriately to clients and colleagues. Technical Proficiency : Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and agency management systems, with the ability to leverage technology to enhance efficiency. Collaborative Team Player : Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and gain the trust and cooperation of team members to achieve common goals. Confidentiality and Discretion : Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, ensuring confidentiality at all times. Qualifications

Minimum of three years of commercial lines experience. Must hold a property and casualty Producer’s license for the lines of insurance being written. Client Management Experience using Vertafore Products highly preferred. Why Join Us?
