Overview Role focused on market development, carrier submissions, negotiations, and client onboarding to support commercial lines sales.
Responsibilities
Work closely with sales associates to understand prospect’s commercial lines insurance needs.
Develop submissions to carriers and obtain quotes. Respond to underwriters’ inquiries.
Negotiate terms with carriers on prospect’s behalf.
Finalize the marketing process and prepare appropriate proposal presentations.
Bind coverage for clients and execute the client onboarding process.
Develop knowledge of insurance markets on behalf of USI.
Develop relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.
Serve as technical expert on market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policies.
Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management systems and technology platforms.
Stay current with industry developments, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
10+ years of experience in commercial property & casualty insurance, with a comprehensive understanding of coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.
Strong knowledge of internet-based programs; Sagitta/ImageRight knowledge preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
Ability to set priorities, manage workflow, and maintain relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other contacts.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
State Property & Casualty insurance license (required).
College degree preferred.
Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, CPCU preferred.
Demonstrated ability to carry out complex tasks with multiple variables.
