Be registered full-time for the respective semester (nine semester credit hours during the fall semester, nine semester credit hours during spring semester, three semester credit hours during the summer, or in the required number of semester credit hours to fulfill the only remaining requirements on the degree plan. Position Information Posting Number Posting Number A1288 Working Title Working Title Graduate Assistant Location Location Edinburg, Texas College College College of Liberal Arts Department Department College of Liberal Arts / Psychological Science Division Division Provost - Academic Affairs FTE FTE .5 Scope of Job Help manage correspondence with current and prospective students, including answering general questions about the program, admissions, and other inquiries Assist with application reviews, organizing materials for faculty, and maintaining records of admitted and current students Assist with coordinating and scheduling meetings for the Graduate Committee and other program-related meetings Maintain records of graduate student progress, ensuring that files are updated with advising completion, evaluation completion, exit exam/thesis progress, course completion, and other relevant information Responsible for scheduling, announcing, and monitoring comprehensive exam sessions Responsible for disseminating completed comprehensive exams to scorers and post scores for students Note: specific tasks may vary depending on assignment. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications Must be admitted to a graduate Psychology degree program. Applicant should be enrolled in 9 hours over the Spring semester. Applicant should be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preferred Qualifications 1) Knowledge of basic statistical analyses. 2) Ability to use SPSS to conduct statistical analyses. 2)Graduate student in a Psychological Science Program. Salary Commensurate with experience.
