Zurich is currently looking for a Claims Crop Field Adjuster II to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week with approximately 75% travel.

Eligible candidates must live and service within the following North Dakota counties: Langdon, Cavalier, Ramsey, Grafton, Lakota, Grand Forks, Griggs, Steele, Traill, Barnes, Cass, Ransom, Richland, and Sargent.

Responsibilities

Work the most complex claims, involving multiple causes of loss, subrogation claims, and multiple quality issues.

Exercise judgment to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts and utilizing applicable procedures.

Determine policy verification and coverage by analyzing applicable coverage for claims and assessing whether the loss falls within coverage.

Assist with training of lower-level adjusters for both Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) and Crop Hail (CH).

Complete quality assurance reviews such as conflict of interest, actual production history, and high dollar reviews on MPCI policies with the ability to change unit structure pending review outcome.

Complete claims on specialty crops, as designated by the local manager or area.

Complete Crop Hail re-inspections when requested for quality assurance purposes.

Work claims of 508H (Risk Management Agency pilot) crops.

Assist the national training team in adjuster trainings.

Serve as subject matter expert for projects and committees as assigned by management.

Assist with team member reviews and identify trends or issues that could affect the quality assurance of the Crop Claims team.

Handle claims that may require subrogation and/or lead to litigation.

Protect Zurich’s reputation by keeping claims information confidential.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in education opportunities, staying current with industry trends, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the crop insurance and claims adjusting area AND

Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) obtained with 180 days of hire date.

Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory.

RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Strong organization and prioritization skills.

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

Previous experience working crop hail.

Compensation The proposed salary range for this position is $46,200.00 - $75,600.00, with short‑term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
