This job is responsible for more complex financial activities involving the consolidation of the bank's month-end close, planning, forecasting and capital processes. Key responsibilities include performing forecasting, profitability analysis, financial reporting, and trend analysis using advanced modeling /software skills and assisting with ad hoc requests. Job expectations include working with key planning and analysis partners on small projects, research, and evaluations of financial performance while maintaining Operational Excellence and a controls discipline. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group is responsible for the overall financial management of our company. This includes accounting, financial and regulatory reporting, balance sheet management, financial planning and analysis, treasury, investor relations, corporate investments and tax. Global Banking and Markets Finance strives to be a valued business partner to the company's trading, corporate and institutional banking businesses. Our first priority is to operate a series of key control processes to ensure the integrity of GBAM's financial results. Then we build on these activities to offer performance insight to business leaders. The assets of Finance are its people. Global Banking Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for centralized management reporting, including earnings reviews and forecasting, and supports financial reviews with our Executive Leaders in the Business and CFO. The Global Markets consolidation, Greensheets, Latin America and Canada FP&A team within Global Banking and Markets FP&A is part of the Finance organization. The primary focus of our team is to provide a broad array of Management Reporting to the FICC and Equity businesses, the Global Markets and Banking consolidated views as well as the Latin America and Canada regions. The team also maintains and enhances the Greensheets reporting system with partnership from technology on initiatives and projects. Our business partners include Business Finance Control, GFCs, Risk, COOs, Corporate and Senior Management. Key priorities are providing P&L and Balance Sheet financial reporting to senior management, liaising with regional and business finance to administer month-end close, and partnering with finance teams to facilitate daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly processes. Responsibilities
Reviews, challenges, and reports on forecasts and budgets by comparing current performance against plan, prior periods and prior forecasts, and evaluating current and future performance trajectory Compiles financial information from a Line of Business (LOB), regional and consolidated perspective for presentation to stakeholders Develops financial management dashboards, reports, presentations, ad hoc analysis, and research using Microsoft Office Suite and Emerging Technology tools Collaborates with teams across the Finance division to ensure integrity of the financials, sound controls, and efficient and effective procedures with limited oversight Supports new and ongoing projects and strategic initiatives by helping to create new processes to automate key reporting capabilities and delivering on process improvements and simplifications to enable increased focus on strategic priorities Exhibits strong attention to detail and applies analytical thinking and problem solving to deliverables while collaborating with key stakeholders and partners Management Reporting, Performance Analysis, Greensheets system maintenance and projects, and ad hoc requests for business and regions under Global Markets with exposure to Banking. Generally, the work routine includes P&L and Balance Sheet Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly reporting with increased demands during Month / Quarter End. During quarter ends, this role is involved in the support and review of certain Global Markets related disclosures and on a monthly basis, involved in month-end reporting. As part of the responsibilities of the role, the teammate will develop business partner relationships with Business Finance Control, GFCs, Risk, COOs and across the FP&A community as well as technology partner relationships with Greensheets. Throughout the tenure of the role, the teammate should gain exposure and acumen in the Global Markets area of the organization and the Greensheets system, and develop or improve financial analysis and reporting skills Required Qualifications
3+ yrs of financial planning and analysis experiences, performing consolidations, management reporting, performance analysis and other ad hoc request Strong excel skills (i.e. proficient with v-lookups, pivots, etc) and data analysis skills Effective communications skills both written and verbal Strong relationship management/partnerships skills Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and hard worker Be comfortable working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Effective organizational and prioritization skills Desired Qualifications
