Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager

The FP&A Manager leads budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis to guide strategic decisions. Partnering with cross-functional teams, this role supports pricing, commissions, capital planning, and accurate monthly closes. The FP&A Manager also drives process improvements, integration of new business units, and delivers clear, actionable financial insights to leadership. Position Essential Functions Help support and assist in leading the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership Provide insightful analysis on financial performance, key performance indicators, identifying trends, and recommending actions Cash flow modeling, forecasting, and liquidity planning Partner with the commercial team on proposal development, including financial modeling, costing, and annual goal setting Administer and support the commission process for the sales team Develop and maintain pricing and rate cards for services Monthly Close Process: Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure a timely and accurate monthly close Review and analyze business unit P&Ls, ensuring data accuracy before final financial statements are published Help drive accountability for the close schedule across all departments Revenue Recognition and Analysis: Analyze and report on key revenue drivers, including subscription and contract performance, renewal rates, and customer lifetime value (CLV) Capital Expenditure and Asset Management Lifecycle: Manage and evaluate capital expenditure requests and timing; support analysis of fleet’s lifecycle, depreciation, and replacement costs Integration and Change Management: Support the integration of Rural Metro Fire and Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus by developing unified financial reporting, consolidating budgets, and helping to identify synergy opportunities; drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting to enhance efficiency and accuracy, particularly during the integration of new business units Position Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field Proven experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis role, with a strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting Minimum of 5-7 years of experience Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis and visualization Extensive experience with financial systems and software, including Salesforce, NetSuite, and Planful Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Proven ability to partner with diverse stakeholders across multiple business lines Ability to simplify complex financial data for non-finance leaders (e.g., the commercial team, operations leaders, etc.) is a critical soft skill for this role Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively Position Conditions Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Position Disclaimer This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
