Overview
Position Summary: The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and supporting the infrastructure and equipment within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). The technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and support facility upgrades and projects. Responsibilities
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors, water purification systems, and other facility equipment. Monitor and maintain building automation systems (BAS) and environmental controls to ensure optimal performance. Respond to facility-related service requests and emergencies in a timely and professional manner. Support calibration and validation activities for regulated systems and equipment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs in compliance with GMP documentation standards. Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and facility upgrades. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, SOPs, and environmental standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering. Participate in audits and inspections by regulatory agencies and internal quality teams. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred. 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Familiarity with GMP, FDA, and OSHA regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Proficient in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments. Comfortable working in cleanroom and controlled environments with appropriate PPE. Preferred Skills
Experience with cleanroom HVAC systems and environmental monitoring. Knowledge of pharmaceutical water systems (WFI, RO, DI). Basic understanding of automation and control systems. EOE Statement
