Overview
The Licking County Prosecutor’s Office is now accepting applications for a full-time
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
within the Felony Division, specializing in Child Sexual and Physical Assault cases. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a small, supportive office where you will work closely with experienced attorneys, law enforcement, and community partners to pursue justice fairly, ethically, and with compassion. We are looking for applicants with a strong sense of justice, a commitment to serving victims, and a desire to grow as a professional while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities
Manage the assigned caseload in the felony division, including case evaluation, charging decisions, court coverage, trial preparation, and trying cases in the courtroom.
Assist law enforcement with search warrants, arrest warrants, and guidance with case development.
Represent the State of Ohio in motion practice, hearings, and jury trials.
Partner with colleagues, court staff, victims, and community agencies to ensure justice is carried out in a fair and ethical manner.
Contribute to a collaborative team environment where learning and professional development are encouraged.
Program:
Felony Division
Qualifications
Admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio.
Jury trial experience handling felony cases, including special victim prosecution.
Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Westlaw, and Windows-based programs.
A sense of integrity, fairness, and a desire to grow within a team-oriented office.
