Overview

Grants Accountant position in the Academic Affairs department. This is a Part Time Special role, minimum 20 hours per week (1,040 hours annually) with opportunities for flexible scheduling. The salary range is $32,000.00–$36,400.00 per year. Posting Number: S000921 Responsibilities

Set up new grant accounts in collaboration with the Business Office Train faculty and staff PIs on their responsibilities for budget and project management at the onset of a new award and assist with funder requests and inquiries (e.g., budget reallocations) Monitor grant expenditures to ensure charges align with institutional policies and funding agency/federal regulations (Uniform Guidance) Work with PIs to establish regular account reconciliation and complete required financial reports to granting agencies/organizations Collaborate with the Office of Human Resources to set up course buyouts and manage time and effort certification Create invoices and reimbursement requests from funders and draw funds down from federal award systems; coordinate with the Business Office to ensure funds are received and credited to the correct account Manage grant closeout and conduct an annual review of all grant accounts Allocate indirect cost recoveries per the College policy Maintain and organize financial grant documents for audit readiness Assist PIs with subawards and submission of invoices/reports to the primary grant recipient on required schedules Assist with creation/updating of post-award policies and procedures Work with the Business Office to create year-end closing journal entries and assist with year-end reporting (e.g., SEFA, GATA); provide requested documentation for auditors Other Responsibilities

An individual in this position must possess the proficiency, knowledge and abilities to provide high-quality service to internal and external constituents of the College. Promote a flexible, collaborative and inclusive work environment and engage in diversity and inclusion opportunities Manage multiple projects simultaneously; set priorities and manage time effectively Exercise extreme attention to detail Collect, evaluate, and analyze data related to account functions Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficiency with Microsoft applications, notably Excel and Word Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or related field) required. Experience

A minimum of 3 years of experience in grant accounting with public and private funding sources. Higher education experience is highly preferred. Knowledge of Ellucian’s financial management system is preferred but not required. Employment Details
