Oregon Equipment Sales is a growing Kubota dealership group serving agricultural, construction, and rural lifestyle customers across the Willamette Valley. We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Controller
to lead our financial operations across three locations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial reporting, streamlining processes, maintaining compliance, and supporting leadership with actionable financial insights. The Controller will oversee all accounting and administrative functions, manage a talented team, and drive improvements across A/R, A/P, whole goods, and general accounting operations. Requirements Key Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
Lead and mentor the accounting and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Partner with the General Manager and department heads to align financial strategies with business objectives. Serve as a key advisor in operational and strategic decision-making. Accounting & Financial Management
Oversee accurate, timely financial reporting including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis to support profitable growth. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and OES policies. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to support business needs. Operational Efficiency
Standardize and improve accounting and administrative processes across all locations. Implement robust internal controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and protect company assets. Evaluate and optimize dealership management and accounting systems for greater efficiency. Audit & Compliance
Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals for annual reviews and filings. Maintain documentation to ensure audit readiness and financial transparency. Expectations by Milestone
First 90 Days – Learn & Assess Build relationships with the accounting, administrative, and leadership teams. Review current systems, processes, and controls to identify strengths and gaps. Analyze dealership management systems including inventory tracking and whole goods processes. Deliver an initial assessment with recommendations for improvements. By 6 Months – Implement & Optimize Standardize accounting practices and reporting formats across all locations. Implement process improvements in AR/AP, whole goods administration, and month-end close. Deliver consistent financial reporting packages to leadership. Develop dashboards or KPIs to track operational and financial performance. By 12 Months – Lead & Strategize Fully own financial reporting and the annual budgeting process. Provide in-depth financial analysis to measure departmental profitability and guide capital investment decisions. Partner with leadership to model growth scenarios, including new locations or expanded product lines. Build and maintain a high-performing finance team committed to service and accuracy. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred). 7+ years of progressive accounting and leadership experience. Experience in dealership operations (agriculture, construction, or heavy equipment preferred). Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and dealership management systems (e.g., DIS, CDK). Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Benefits
