Position Summary
Assistant Manager‑Major Accounts responsible for assisting the Major Account Manager in overseeing the operations process related to the fulfillment and delivery of sales orders to the company’s national retail accounts.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzing, reviewing, coordinating and tracking time‑sensitive sales orders
Supervising the control and movement of merchandise and materials
Knowing, integrating and employing each client’s compliance standards
Supervising the selection and preparation of merchandise
Supervising the method and process of packing merchandise for shipping
Maintaining a detailed and accurate serialization and manifesting scheme
Supervising the proper consolidation and preparation of ready‑to‑ship goods
Scheduling, documenting, and tendering domestic parcel, LTL and FTL shipments
Recording and reporting shipments using EDI, web, back‑office and other solutions
Tracking, reporting, verifying and disputing shipment or billing inquiries as necessary
Maintaining records, logs, files and communications related to ongoing business
Maintaining department facilities, equipment, resources and material volumes
Supervising staff volumes, assignments and distribution
Maintaining company policies related to safety, etiquette and staff relations
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory role, however, assists the Major Accounts Manager in their absence.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Demonstrated success at the collegiate level or equivalent experience
One to three years of supervisory or management experience in retail, or other customer‑oriented, order‑fulfillment workplaces
Special Requirements
Ability to work overtime on a regular basis and weekends
Ability to work in an open, warehouse environment

Computer proficiency including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets and generating reports using standard software applications
Planning, allocating resources, managing production and coordinating people and equipment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously
Gathering data, compiling information and preparing reports
Working independently, investigating problems, initiating solutions, and managing multiple tasks under deadline constraints
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Reading and interpreting paperwork
Knowledge of inventory management practices
Excellent attention to detail
Multitasking in a fast‑paced, dynamic and changing environment with a focus on meeting deadlines
Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers, vendors and co‑workers in a professional and helpful manner
Demonstrated success in developing, incorporating, maintaining and improving compliance standards, processes and protocols
Consistent, dependable attendance

Computer, printer, telephone, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, calculator, various hand and power tools, and pallet jack
Common computer software: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Safety equipment: safety shoes
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, perform repetitive hand motions, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel; push and/or pull with arms and reach with arms and/or hands; crouch, kneel, crawl or bend; climb/balance
Exerting in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Close mental and visual attention required to perform work dealing primarily with preparing, analyzing, and interpreting data and figures, using a computer terminal, and/or extensive reading
Environmental Conditions
Work is performed in a typical warehouse with exposure to temperature changes, noise, potential for physical injury
