Audit program expenses to be reported externally. Perform required sub-recipient/contractor monitoring. Provide executive review of award expenses with PI/faculty to assist in financial management. The Senior Grants Accountant must be able to visualize and understand varying perspectives and provide professional guidance on grant-related issues, as well as key financial and operational best practices. Coordinate and perform accounting duties related to NEOMED's financial reporting, ensure compliance with federal requirements, support daily accounting operations, and assist PIs with financial management of grants. Financial Reporting:
Prepare external financial reports, act as the Authorized Financial Official, certify expenses under penalty of law, and support federal audits. Sub-Recipient/Contractor Monitoring:
Manage due diligence and compliance reviews of sub-recipients, including financial and operational assessments. Internal Auditing:
Audit grant expenses for compliance and certify expenditures when required. Cash Management:
Manage cash flow, certify invoices, authorize federal drawdowns, and maintain reporting systems. Policy Compliance:
Assist in developing and implementing policies related to grants accounting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field 2-4 years experience in Grants Accounting, familiar with OMB Circulars and Federal Regulations Proficiency with Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in accounting or related field Experience in fund accounting and higher education Experience with Banner or Kuali systems Physical Requirements: Ability to use office equipment.
