Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) . Summary: Act as the Authorized Financial Officer for all assigned sponsored program awards, including required certifications under penalty of law. Audit program expenses to be reported externally. Perform required sub-recipient/contractor monitoring. Provide executive review of award expenses with PI/faculty to assist in financial management. The Senior Grants Accountant must be able to visualize and understand varying perspectives and provide professional guidance on grant-related issues, as well as key financial and operational best practices. Position Details: Type: Admin/Professional Department: Grants Accounting Full Time Pay Grade: MN9 Responsibilities include: Fund Management:

Coordinate and perform accounting duties related to NEOMED's financial reporting, ensure compliance with federal requirements, support daily accounting operations, and assist PIs with financial management of grants. Financial Reporting:

Prepare external financial reports, act as the Authorized Financial Official, certify expenses under penalty of law, and support federal audits. Sub-Recipient/Contractor Monitoring:

Manage due diligence and compliance reviews of sub-recipients, including financial and operational assessments. Internal Auditing:

Audit grant expenses for compliance and certify expenditures when required. Cash Management:

Manage cash flow, certify invoices, authorize federal drawdowns, and maintain reporting systems. Policy Compliance:

Assist in developing and implementing policies related to grants accounting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field 2-4 years experience in Grants Accounting, familiar with OMB Circulars and Federal Regulations Proficiency with Microsoft Office Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in accounting or related field Experience in fund accounting and higher education Experience with Banner or Kuali systems Physical Requirements: Ability to use office equipment.
