We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Grants Accountant and Auditor to support the financial oversight of disaster and non-disaster grants awarded to our agency. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of all grant-related financial activities, including reconciliations, drawdowns, and closeouts.
Key Responsibilities
Process grant reconciliations, drawdowns, and closeouts for both disaster and non-disaster grants.
Monitor grant revenue and expenditures to ensure accurate coding and full compliance with grant terms.
Gather and compile financial and programmatic data from various sources for reporting purposes.
Perform monthly reconciliations for each assigned grant and prepare journal entries in SHARE as needed.
Maintain and analyze accounts receivable and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in line with agency guidelines.
Draw federal operating funds to cover expenditures and ensure maintenance of a positive cash balance.
Prepare and submit detailed financial and programmatic reports to funding agencies.
Collaborate with internal departments to collect relevant information and ensure grant compliance.
Qualifications Required Experience and/or Education in:
Accounting
Finance
Auditing
Budgeting
Grant management or administration
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with grant-funded programs (federal, state, or local).
Knowledge of public sector accounting standards and federal grant compliance requirements.
Familiarity with SHARE (Statewide Human Resources, Accounting, and Management Reporting System) or similar ERP systems.
Skills and Competencies
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems
