Milk Makeup is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to be the strong number two to our Accounting Manager. You will be a pivotal member of our finance team, playing a critical role in our daily operations and month-end close process. This is a hands-on role for a professional with a solid technical accounting foundation who is ready to take on significant responsibility and contribute to our continuous improvement initiatives. What YOU’LL Do
Lead key aspects of the month-end close process, including preparing complex journal entries, performing detailed account reconciliations, and conducting comprehensive analytical reviews of the balance sheet and income statement. Serve as a point person for a variety of critical accounting functions, including inventory, e-commerce, and intercompany transactions, ensuring all activities are accurately recorded and in full compliance with US GAAP. Drive process improvements and automation projects to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department. Assist the Accounting Manager in maintaining and enhancing internal controls to ensure SOX compliance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing new processes. Prepare financial reports and ad-hoc analyses to provide valuable insights into our performance and profitability. Manage fixed asset depreciation and oversee the monthly journal entries and subledger maintenance for fixed assets. Serve as the primary liaison for audits, preparing comprehensive schedules and providing necessary documentation and explanations to auditors. We'd Like YOU to Have
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field. 5-7 years of progressive experience
in accounting. Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting
(ideally Big 4). Prior experience in the
consumer packaged goods (CPG)
industry is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of
US GAAP
and technical accounting principles. Prior experience working for a publicly traded company. Strong understanding of internal controls, and risk management. Experience with month end closing processes Proficiency with an
ERP system
(e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP Business One). Exceptional analytical skills and keen attention to detail. A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with the accounting manager and cross-functional teams. Seniority level
