Overview
Senior Accountant at Caloris Engineering, LLC (Controller responsibilities for Caloris Engineering/Seitz Stainless LLC). This role owns core month-end close activities and ensures accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP. The position prepares and reviews journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules; partners with Operations/Project Management on revenue and cost accuracy; supports audits; and drives process improvement and internal control discipline. Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations (cash, AR, AP, inventory, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, intercompany). Maintain the close calendar and deliver a timely, accurate close. Ensure GAAP compliance and consistency across entities/cost centers. Review percent-complete calculations and project budgets as needed; post monthly Revenue Recognition entries. Monitor margin variances and investigate root causes (pricing, scrap, labor, overhead). Oversee AR/AP accuracy from the GL perspective; review aging, accruals, and cut-off. Prepare cash reconciliations and weekly cash activity summaries. Maintain fixed asset subledger, CIP tracking, depreciation, and disposals. Produce monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and supporting schedules with concise variance commentary. Prepare management reporting. Support budget/forecast build with historical and run-rate insights. Process payroll weekly through a third-party payroll provider. Review and post monthly labor batches. Reconcile all payroll, payroll tax accounts and accrual accounts. Create and post payroll entries in ERP system (GSS). Process ACH/Wire/Check Payments (bi-weekly). Sales and Use Tax Returns. New Vendor Setup. Qualifications
4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of month-end close. Strong GAAP knowledge; proven reconciliation and variance-analysis skills. Proficient in ERP accounting systems and Excel. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines. Education
BA/BS in Accounting (or Finance with strong accounting emphasis).
