CFO Company Overview: Our client is an established Technology company looking for a highly experienced Controller to lead our accounting team. This role will report directly to the CFO and play a key part in managing our financial operations. Job Summary: The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls, ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a CPA, significant public accounting experience (preferably Big 4), and at least 12 years of experience in accounting, with strong ERP evaluation and implementation experience. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a rapidly expanding SaaS company and make a meaningful impact on the company’s financial strategy. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the company’s accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition, ensuring adherence to GAAP. Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, presenting accurate and timely reports to the CFO and executive team. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, in compliance with company policies and external regulations. Manage the company’s financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results. Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of ERP systems to improve financial reporting, processes, and data integration across departments. Develop and maintain robust financial models to forecast company performance, drive budgeting processes, and analyze key financial metrics. Oversee tax compliance and reporting, working with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings. Assist in preparing for external audits and lead audit preparation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Partner with the CFO on financial strategy, providing key insights on performance and areas of opportunity for operational efficiency and cost control. Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and product development, to ensure alignment of financial goals with business objectives. Implement process improvements across accounting functions and provide guidance on financial best practices. Qualifications: CPA certification is required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred. 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with a strong background in public accounting (preferably Big 4) and experience in a SaaS or technology company. Extensive experience in ERP evaluation, selection, and implementation; familiarity with popular ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) is a must. Deep knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition standards (ASC 606), and other accounting principles relevant to SaaS companies. Proven experience in leading financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills; experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization tools is a plus.
